New Editions of Objective Connect for Business Users

Objective Connect has been engineered for enterprise and government business scenarios and delivers features and capability specifically to support business usage. Many of you have requested better support for Workgroups and easier management of your Connections (the amount that you can share - more information on Connections) and Users. You've also asked us to simplify the purchasing model for optional capability including Administration features, Reporting and integration to on-premise enterprise systems.

To address all of these requests we've introduced two new Editions focused specifically on Workgroup and Enterprise usage scenarios. We've also made a few changes to the Standard Edition to make your choice of Edition that suits your scenario even easier than before.

Of course, we have retained the Free (Participate) Edition of Objective Connect which allows anyone to be a participant of a Share that has been created by an Objective Connect paid user. This "user pays" concept has proved extremely popular in the context of business scenarios, especially in government organisations, because Participants never have to pay for an account to receive or share information.

KEY CHANGES

For the Workgroup and Enterprise Editions, Connections are no longer sold on a "per user" basis. This means that you can buy a pack of Connections for your Workgroup or organisation and "pool" those connections across whoever you want. You decide who can use your Connections. You decide who can create Shares on behalf of your team or organisation. You decide when they should no longer have access.

Because of this change to Workgroup and Enterprise Editions, we no longer offer Connection pooling or Workgroup management features to Objective Connect Standard users. If you have a need to manage who shares on behalf of your organisation then the Workgroup or Enterprise Edition is the right choice for you.

The Reporting Dashboard and related User Administration features like being able to add and remove Users from your account and "take ownership" of Shares, are no longer an optional additional purchase. They are included in the cost of the Workgroup and Enterprise Editions.

Thirdly, the Enterprise Edition now includes on free Objective Connect Link which enables sharing directly from supported on premise information management systems. In most circumstances, it also includes the proven Objective Connect Link Enablement Package.*

Finally, each Edition now has a minimum and maximum number of Connections available as detailed on the Pricing Page. Should you require more Connections than your current Edition allows, we would pleased to provide you with more information on a suitable Edition.

Note: If you're an existing customer of Objective Connect you can either upgrade to one of the new Editions or remain on your current plan until your needs change.
