Share permissions have been redesigned to give Share owners more flexibility and finer control over who can do what in their Shares. When you create a Share, you'll notice the 'Share type' option is no longer there. Instead, you can assign abilities to the invited participants.

There are six different abilities, not counting the basic 'Read' ability, which is automatically given to every person who accepts the Share invitation.

• 'Add Folder' allows the participant to create subfolders in the Share.
• 'Edit' gives the participant the ability to rename documents, replace documents with new versions using the new 'Replace Document' control, or delete documents.
• 'Comment' gives the participant access to the Share conversation.
• 'Invite' allows the participant to invite new participants to the Share and remove existing participants, just like the Share owner. Inviters can also change other participants abilities, but they cannot give abilities to other participants that they do not themselves have, and they cannot give the 'Invite' ability. Therefore, a participant with only the 'Invite' and 'Edit' abilities could give other participants the 'Edit' ability, but not 'Comment'.
• 'Hidden' makes the participant invisible to other participants. They cannot be seen in the 'Participants' list (except by the Share owner and users with the 'Invite' ability) and they cannot be mentioned. However, a hidden participant may reveal themselves to other users if they are also given another ability and make changes to the Share, such as using the Share conversation with the 'Comment' ability. That is, if they leave a comment, it will include their name and profile picture, just as it would for any other user.

Abilities are assigned en masse, so that every participant invited in the one 'Add Participant' window is assigned the same abilities. As the Share owner, you can edit participants' abilities at any time from the 'Participants' list - just open the 'Actions' menu and choose 'Update Abilities'.
